Into what space can our expanding universe expand into if it is already infinite?

The universe is infinite. Correct? Therefore, it cannot get bigger. That is, the universe already occupies all space since it is infinite in size.

But people say it is expanding.

So, if it is expanding, it needs space to expand into. It needs room to expand into just as raisin bread dough in a bowl rises — expands, that is.

Some people say the universe is growing and the galaxies are getting further apart.

But the universe has to have room to grow. Therefore, there has to be something else out there that our universe’s growth will displace as it expands.

Besides being interesting, is this correct? Logically how can it be correct?
